As God asked Job 3,500 years ago: “Have you grasped the celestial laws?” (Job 38:33 NJB)

We know much more today than Job did then, but our answer would also be: “not really.”

However, the Bible does enlighten us far beyond science, although we appreciate good science.

Can God the Father Be the Only Almighty?

Is it possible that God the Father is the only one who is Almighty, and his Son, Jesus Christ and the holy Spirit are not Almighty?

“The Father is Almighty, the Son Almighty, and the Holy Spirit Almighty. And yet there are not three Almighties, but one Almighty”—Athanasian Creed

The Trinity doctrine asserts that the three Trinitarian beings “are co-equal and co-eternal.” Let’s examine what the Bible says about Almighty God.

ALMIGHTY GOD IS THE FATHER

“If I am indeed father, where is the honor due to me? says Yahweh Sabaoth” (Malachi 1:6 NJB). “Do we not all have one Father? Has not one God created us?” (Malachi 2:10 NASB). The “one God” is identified with “Yahweh”, the Father. These scriptures thus contradict the Trinity doctrine, which claims the one God is the Trinity – the Father, the Son, and the holy Spirit. God is identified as “one” [Hebrew “echad”], not three-in-one. “Echad” is the numeral “one.” It is not a compound unity. read more

Notice how many times conjectural words such as “thought to,” “probably,” “may,” “we think,” “suggests,” “conclude,” and “might” appear in this short article. read more

From relief to regret: Readers’ experiences of abortion

On January 30, 2017, BBC News published an article entitled “From relief to regret: Readers’ experiences of abortion.” The article can be found here: http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-38775641

Notice the high percentage of women who express regret and remorse over having had an abortion. Also, note the high percentage of those who view the unborn child as a human person, rather than a piece of tissue. A basic sense of right and wrong is programmed into each human by God. “I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts” (Hebrews 8:10 NIV). This is more or less true to an extent even among those who are not Christians. Of course, it is also true that the “consciences [of many people] have been seared as with a hot iron” (1 Timothy 4:2 NIV) after people begin to violate them over time. read more

Is the Bible reliable? — What is the priesthood of the believer??

Do people have approach to God only through a clergy class, priests, church, an organization, a certain denomination, or is approach to God directly through Jesus Christ, and him alone? What is the priesthood of the believer?

The Bible is written so that anyone can read and understand it for themselves, but each person has a serious responsibility to use the Bible correctly, “accurately handling the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15 NASB).

Ants have a navigation system that is more sophisticated than humans.

“Go to the ant, you lazy man! Observe its ways and become wise.” (Proverbs 6:6-8)

“Four things on earth are small, yet they are extremely wise: the ants are not a strong people, yet they store up their food in the summer.” (Proverbs 30:24-25)

Does God Love Us Unconditionally?

Does God love us unconditionally? There is no doubt that God loves us, as John 3:16, says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (NKJV). The principle expressed in John 3:16 means that God does love everyone, in a sense. In another sense, however, there are conditions relative to God’s love.

The Trinity is not a Biblical belief The Trinity is said to be the main doctrine of Christianity. Verses from Hebrews chapter 1 are often used to support the doctrine. However, there are some very valid and legitimate questions about what the verses in Hebrews actually say about the Trinity issue that need to be answered.

Hebrews 1:1 – “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways” (NIV). Who is the “God” mentioned here?

Hebrews 1:2 – “in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things and through whom he made the universe” (NIV). read more

Why is the first “God” qualified by the definite article “ho” in Greek, and the second God is not? Why does the REB say, “What God was, the Word was”? As the above article points out, Antartica had a rich ecosystem in the distant past, scientists have discovered. This is one of many evidences that there was a global flood.
