“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…. Then God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light…. Then God said, ‘Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night. They will serve as signs for festivals and for days and years. They will be lights in the expanse of the sky to provide light on the earth.’ And it was so. God made the two great lights—the greater light to have dominion over the day and the lesser light to have dominion over the night—as well as the stars. God placed them in the expanse of the sky to provide light on the earth, to dominate the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.” (Genesis 1:1,3,14-18 CSB)
“You were slaves to those who by nature are not gods”—Galatians 4:8 NIV.
Macro-Evolution, or Darwinism has achieved god-like status in the scientific and educational communities. It has achieved such honor as a sacred-cow, that it is not supposed to be even questioned.
Darwinian evolution depends primarily on one thing: speciation, which is defined as “the formation of new and distinct species in the course of evolution”. Evolutionists claim they have lots of “proof” for this. However, when their claims are examined, (excluding the outright frauds, such as “Piltdown Man”), they are simply assertions, or assumptions without actual proof. The big assumption the theory hangs on is the minor variations within “kinds”, that is called Micro-Evolution. A typical example is the many different varieties of dogs, but they are all still dogs, no matter how much variation there is between them. The problem for evolutionists is that we don’t see dogs evolving into deer or bears do we? So Darwinists are forced claim that over long periods of time, such as millions of years, these large-scale changes occurred. The reason we don’t see them happening now is that over a relatively short period of time, say a hundred years even, these changes can’t be seen.
According to a new article at Science Daily, the fossil of a prehistoric baby bird is causing scientists to reevaluate their previous thoughts on evolution.
Once again, evolutionists are having to revise their story, after this newly analyzed ‘early baby bird’ fossil was analyzed in greater detail recently, using the latest state-of-the-art technology. It is very interesting that they admit “this particular group of avians may have been more diverse than previously thought”. Also, one of the study’s co-authors added: “It is amazing to realize how many of the features we see among living birds had already been developed more than 100 million years ago”.
The purpose of this article, and indeed this website, is not to get involved in any partisan politics, but to advocate for God’s Word, the Bible. As the late Billy Graham said late in life, he wished he’d stayed out of politics. Yet, the Bible is very “useful for . . . correction” (2 Tim 3:16 NIV).
In an opinion column in the Tallahassee Democrat on March 6, 2018, Rabbi Jack Romberg says that “Jewish tradition . . . considers a fetus a life, but not equivalent to a fully formed human life”. That may be true about Jewish tradition. He should know, being a Rabbi. But, he unfortunately goes on to make a false statement about the Bible. He claims “This is based on Exodus 21:22 through 25, which makes clear the loss of a fetus by human misconduct is not punished the same way as murder”. Since the Rabbi probably uses the TANAKH, which is a Jewish translation of the Hebrew Scriptures, or Old Testament, let’s quote these verses from there:
Until 2004, the pool and church built by Byzantine empress Eudocia to commemorate the site was thought by some Bible believers to have likely been the Pool of Siloam. In fact, many “experts” doubted the existence of the Pool of Siloam, period. Many of these “experts” also doubted the authenticity of the entire gospel of John, thinking that it was written long after the Apostle John had died, and was largely a book of legend and fiction.
Archaeological discoveries are forcing more and more skeptics to rethink their positions. The actual, genuine Pool of Siloam that was in use in Jesus day was accidently discovered in 2004. During construction work to repair a large water pipe south of Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, at the southern end of ridge known as the City of David, archaeologists began to uncover what we now know is the Pool of Siloam. Numismatic evidence—coins from the late Hasmonean period (c 90 BCE) and from the Jewish revolt (c 63 CE)—prove that this pool was in use in Jesus’ day. This and other evidence has convinced archaeologists beyond any doubt that this was indeed the Pool of Siloam in John 9.
In our recent article about the expansion of the universe, we showed how some basic scientific facts about the universe point to the existence of God. Today, we will examine even more scientific concepts about the universe and see how they relate to the Creator.
Existence of Elements Essential for Life
When two helium nuclei collide, they fuse together and produce the fleeting, unstable beryllium. An additional collision with a single helium nucleus, and carbon is created.
“For the Lord is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. ‘I am the Lord,’ he says, ‘and there is no other.'” (Isaiah 45:18 NLT)
Archaeologists have discovered a 7,000-year-old burial site in the Gulf of Mexico after a tip from a recreational diver who found human remains at the site in 2016. More details can be read in this article.
The ancient burial site discovered off the southwest Florida coast lends credence to what we know from the Bible about the flood in Genesis 6-8. The article states that “sea levels were much lower during that time”, and then goes on to say that “sea levels rose”. How does this harmonize with the Biblical account of the global flood?
An article in USA Today entitled “Signal received from far reaches of early universe” reports:
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…
For the first time, astronomers have detected a signal from stars emerging in the early universe some 14 billion years ago.
They may also have detected mysterious “dark matter” at work.
Using a radio antenna not much bigger than a refrigerator, astronomers discovered that primordial suns began to shine about 180 million years after the Big Bang, when the universe was created.
