What are these scriptures teaching?

Mark 1:1 – This is the Good News about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God

Mark 1:10 – Jesus… coming up out of the water… the Spirit descending on him… a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son” – Jesus obviously not the Holy Spirit or God

Mark 1:13 – “tempted by Satan” – since “God cannot be tempted by evil” (James 1:13), Jesus cannot be God.

Mark 1:24 – “Jesus of Nazareth… the Holy One of God – obviously not God read more

Scriptures wrongly applied shown below:

Isaiah 9:6 – “Mighty (not  Almighty) God”

John 1:1 – Translation issue (see NAB ftns.):

 “what God was, the Word was” – REB

“The Word was divine” – AA; Mof.

John 1:14 – “became flesh”—-so thousands of people saw Jesus

John 1:18 – “No one has seen God at any time.”  Obviously, Jesus wasn’t and couldn’t be God Almighty.

Romans 9:5 – “from them by natural descent came the Messiah. May God, supreme over all be blessed.” – REB – This verse wrongly translated by some others. CLNT; “according to the flesh is the Messiah, God who is over all be blessed forever.” – NAB & ftn. read more

We continue our series about what is stated concerning Jesus in the various books of the New Testament. Today, we will examine the Gospel of John.

John 1:1 – “The Word was God”

John 5:18 – “Making himself equal to God”

John 10:30 – “I and the Father are one”

John 14:9 – “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father”

John 20:28 – “My Lord and my God”
