Only the Bible can make sense of the standards by which we evaluate whether or not something is true. One such set of standards are the laws of logic. We all know that a true claim cannot contradict another true claim. That would violate a law of logic: the law of non-contradiction. The statements “The light is red” and “The light is not red” cannot both be true at the same time and in the same sense. Laws of logic thus represent a standard by which we can judge certain truth claims. Moreover, all people seem to “know” laws like the law of non-contradiction. We all assume that such laws are the same everywhere and apply at all times without exception. But why is this? How do we know such things?

If we consider the biblical worldview, we find that we can make sense of the laws of logic. The Bible tells us that God’s mind is the standard for all knowledge because, “God . . . has perfect knowledge” (Job 37:15,16 NIV). “God has hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge in Christ” (Colossians 2:3). read more

Many translations of Philippians 2:6 give the impression that Jesus Christ is equal with his Father, Almighty God. For example:

Many Christians have been taught and believe that Jesus Christ is Almighty God because he actually forgave sins while he was on earth. Does forgiving sins mean that Jesus is God? Let’s analyze the scriptures objectively, and see for ourselves.

Mark 2:5-7 – “When Jesus saw their faith, he saw to the  paralytic, ‘Child, your sins are forgiven.’ Now some of the scribes were sitting there asking themselves, ‘ Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming. Who but God alone can forgive sins?” (NAB).  Does this assertion by Jesus’ enemies that, ‘only God can forgive sins’, mean that Jesus is God? Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is said to be Almighty God, along with God the Father, and the holy Spirit. However, according to the scriptures Jesus Christ has a God. Who could this be? Who is Jesus’ God?

“You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions”—Hebrews 1:9 ESV

The Trinity doctrine says that Jesus, the Son of God, is not a creature, but is Almighty God himself. However, could it possibly be true that Jesus is a creature who has God over him? If Jesus is a creature with God over him, the Trinity doctrine is proven false. But is he “God the Son”?   A discussion with a Trinitarian about whether Jesus Christ is “God the Son” follows. “ T” stands for the Trinitarian and “BA” stands for us at Bible Authenticity.   T—The author of BA believes the Word was a created being, not a man or angel, but some being not identified.

BA—He is Biblically identified. “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God” (John 20:31 NASB).
T- We are talking about the pre-incarnate Jesus Christ. You said the Word was created by God before creation.

T—I say and John 1:1 says He was God, therefore not a created being.

BA—The Bible says Jesus is “the only begotten God was is in the bosom of his Father”, but is not the “God” that “no one has seen” (John 1:T18 NASB). Being “begotten” means his life had a beginning, therefore he was created. read more

Scientists do not understand  the accelerating expansion of the universe based on the their current models, but God does!

“He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in” —Isaiah 40:22 NIV

The above, and other scriptures, inform us that God caused the universe to expand, to ‘stretch out’ over time.

It is very awkward for Trinitarians to believe that Jesus is eternally co-equal and co-eternal with God, and yet he’s never mentioned in the Old Testament (OT), but the holy Spirit is. When we read the New Testament, however, we cannot miss the active role that Jesus plays as Savior and Head of the Church. To support their eternal Triune God dogma, Trinitarians have concocted the unscriptural idea that Jesus, as their “second person of the Trinity”, was “the angel of the LORD” who is mentioned a number of times in the OT.

Sometimes Trinitarians claim that Jesus was “the Angel of the LORD” in the Old Testament. The following is an actual discussion with a Trinitarian who is very adamant about such a claim. In the quoted discussion below,”T” stands for the Trinitarian, and “BA” stands for us at this website.

T—Most of the Christophanies in the Old Testament are accomplished by the entity called “the Angel of the Lord.”

BA—There are no “Christophanies” in the OT. Not a single scripture supports such a thing.“And now he has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior” (2 Timothy 2:10 NIV). Jesus was alive all during the OT, but never appeared to anyone on earth until the NT. read more

God’s name is often written as “the LORD” in most Bible translations. Some translations use “Jehovah” for God’s name. However, Lord is not a name but a title. “One of the titles for God is Lord, a translation of Adonai. There is yet another name for which is particularly assigned to God as His special or proper name, that is, the four letters YHWH (Exodus 3:14 and Isaiah 42:8)”  [NASB, Principles of Translation).

“Indeed, there are many gods and many lords, yet for us there is but one God, the Father” (1 Corinthians 8:5,6 NASB). In the Old Testament, or Hebrew-Aramaic Scriptures, God’s name is Yahweh. “I am Yahweh, that is my name!” (Isaiah 42:8 NJB). The name Yahweh appears some 6,800 times in the manuscripts of the Old Testament, or Hebrew-Aramaic Scriptures. Yet, “this name has not been pronounced by Jews because of reverence for the great sacredness of the divine name. Therefore it has been consistently translated as LORD. The only exception  . . . is when it occurs in immediate proximity to the word Lord, that is, Adonai. In that case it is regularly translated GOD to avoid confusion” [Ibed.]. Of course, there would be no worry about such “confusion,” if YHWH were translated accurately as Yahweh. read more
