Jude said apostles’ writings were authoritative

Some Christians today believe only the actual spoken words of Jesus to be divinely inspired and to be taken as the authoritative word of God, and other Bible writings to be merely the words of man. This is not the way the early Christians viewed things. For example, Jude viewed the Apostles’ teachings and writings as authoritative Scripture, the word of God:

Is the Bible reliable? — Jesus believed the Old Testament to be the infallible word of God

Some modern Christians, and virtually all non-Christians, believe the Old Testament (OT) was simply the word of humans and is fallible. However, Jesus Christ Himself believed the Old Testament to be the infallible word of God. Below, we will use scriptural quotations followed by comments to show why this is true:

“But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set. If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Paul affirms God’s active involvement in the writing of Scripture through his holy Spirit, including the Old Testament, an involvement so powerful and pervasive that what is written is the infallible and authoritative word of God.

10,000-Year-Old Extinct Lion Cubs Discovered in Near-Perfect Condition in Siberian Permafrost

MSN News published an article on October 27, 2015 about extinct lion cubs being discovered in Siberian permafrost. The article reports:

“Two extinct cave lion cubs were discovered in permafrost in northeastern Siberia, a ‘sensational’ and unprecedented find according to The Siberian Times. The cubs are believed to be at least 10,000 years old, though they might be even older, and were found almost perfectly preserved thanks to the permafrost.

The region where the cubs were discovered, the Sakha Republic, has yielded discoveries before, including woolly mammoths, woolly rhinoceros, bison, and horses. The remains of the lions are the most complete specimens of their kind ever discovered, according to researchers involved. read more

The above article was published in the Tallahassee Democrat newspaper on October 17, 2015.

While it is unwise to be dogmatic, this discovery sounds a lot like the Bible’s account of the global flood, and its resultant destruction, as recorded at Genesis 7:17-23. At the very least, this discovery does not contradict the Bible.

New “human-like species” discovered

BBC has posted a new article claiming that a new “human-like species” has been discovered in South Africa, which they have given the name naledi. The discovery of 15 partial skeletons has led some researchers to conclude that may be a different species of human-like creatures than was previously known. From these partial skeletons pictures have been drawn showing what the researchers think these creatures may have looked like.

We knew Darwinian evolution was in “crisis” mode, but this discovery really takes the cake! Evolutionists don’t know what to make of it, or how to fit it into their theory. Why? Because it doesn’t fit (just like some other discoveries). Of course, artists can draw fictional images that fit whatever they want it to. read more

“Have We Underestimated Our Ancestors?” – Early Humans?

A new BBC News article says that evidence from a variety of sources suggests that our early ancestors were much more sophisticated than we could have imagined.

Here we go again. More and more discoveries are proving evolutionary theories wrong. Early humans were much more complex than they imagined. That is just what the Bible said about the first humans all along. For example, the very earliest humans mentioned in Genesis:

Composed poetry (Genesis 2:23; Genesis 4:23-24)
Built cities (Genesis 4:17)
Lived domestically (Genesis 4:20)
Raised livestock (Genesis 4:20)
Developed musical instruments and could play them (Genesis 4:21)
Forged various metallic tools (Genesis 4:22)

The Bible, being ahead of its time, once again trumps evolutionary scientists and their theories about early humans. read more

Universe not dying as headline sensationalizes

There is a new MSN article that says that the universe is slowly dying as old stars fade faster than new ones are born. The article can be read here.

These discoveries serve to prove the Bible as being right when it says the universe had a beginning (Genesis 1:1). The obvious reason that stars are not being formed at the same rate as in the past is that the universe had to be kick-started from zero or nothing to a full-blown universe in a relatively short time – by the standards of the universe, that is. read more
