Is the Bible reliable? — Where is the Trinity?

In the 27 books of the New Testament (NT), the core doctrine is said to be the Trinity, according to most Protestant, Catholic, and non-denominational churches. If that is true, then the doctrine should be prolific, and abundantly clear. Where is the Trinity in the Bible, particularly the New Testament?

Mark 12:29 – “Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘HEAR, O ISRAEL! Yahweh OUR GOD IS ONE Yahweh”‘” (LSB margin). Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 6:4 in reference to the greatest commandment of all. But, according to this, Yahweh God is only one Yahweh. How can this be? read more

How did the Bible come to us? Was it passed down through legends and folklore? Has it been copied and recopied so much that the original message is lost?

“All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work”—2 Timothy 3:16,17 NAB

Is the Bible a trustworthy document? Are the Scriptures true as written? Or are they full of myths that may have symbolic value but little if any basis in fact? People have been questioning the biblical record almost from its beginnings. Peter, for instance, encountered skepticism as he presented the gospel in the first century His claims about Jesus were nothing but cleverly devised fables, some said—a charge he vehemently denied (2 Peter 1:16). NT canon — Textual Criticism collates and compares the many ancient extant Bible manuscripts for the various Biblical texts to determine the original reading for each scripture?

Is Textual Criticism something that is critical of the Bible’s text, something that shows the Biblical text is unreliable? Or, is Textual Criticism something positive, or, favorable, toward authenticating the Bible’s text as being genuine, reliable, and trustworthy?

It is popularly believed today that the Bible has been copied and re-copied so many times over the centuries that is text is unreliable, and no one can be sure of what was in the originals. Is there any truth to this? read more
